Apostle Bo Burns

Apostle Roy L. Burns Jr., affectionately known as Apostle Bo, is a native of Portsmouth, Ohio.  He serves as Senior Pastor of Greater Glory Empowerment Temple, Inc. which is located on the southside of Columbus, Ohio. He is the co-founder of The Empowerment Center of Columbus, a non-profit community development corporation. In 2022, he was affirmed as an Apostle in the Lord's Church.

 

For the last 10 years, Apostle Bo has been committed to outreach and going beyond the four walls of the church in order to reach the lost.  Under his leadership, Greater Glory Empowerment Temple started several outreach events such as its Annual Community Day, Annual Thanksgiving Dinner, Annual Toy Giveaway and Drive-by Prayer. Apostle Bo often says a church that fails to do outreach is a church that fails to exist.


In 2023, Pastor Bo came under the spiritual covering of Pastor John F. Hannah and the New Life Covenant Southeast of Chicago, Illinois.

 

Pastor Bo is a licensed barber in the State of Ohio and a graduate of the Gospel Lighthouse School of Ministry.  He is married to Pastor Aleta S. Burns and the father of two daughters and a son, Ashley Josette, Amaria Leigh and Jaylen Malcolm.

Pastor Bo is a praiser and a worshipper.  His favorite scripture is Proverbs 3:6: “In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”

Pastor Aleta S. Burns is the Co-Pastor of Greater Glory Empowerment Temple, Inc. She is the author of "The Power of a Detoxed Life" and the CEO of The Empowerment Center, a Non-Profit Community Development Corporation in Columbus, Ohio.


Pastor Aleta comes from a family full of preachers, teachers, and singers. It was no surprise that at the age of 20, she acknowledged the “Call of Ministry” on her life and has been working in ministry ever since.


Pastor Aleta graduated from Capital University with a Bachelor Degree in Biology and from Franklin University with a Master's Degree in Business Administration. She is married to Apostle Bo Burns. and the mother of two children, Amaria Leigh and Jaylen Malcolm and a step-daughter, Ashley Josette.


Pastor Aleta can be found praising and worshipping God and often states, “Praise is what I do”.  Her favorite scripture is Lamentations 3:21-23: “This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.  It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: Great is thy Faithfulness.”
